Caitlin – Sneak Peek!

November 19, 2009

Amy and I met up with Caitlin downtown for her senior portraits…and boy, did we ever luck into the most perfect November day ever!  Not just that but Caitlin is truly everything beautiful and exciting about being a high school senior. She’s bright, full of contagious energy and she’s about to embark on the the most amazing adventure ever…LIFE (as a real grown-up)!

Congratulations Caitlin and may your journey “take you to the most special places your heart has ever known”

Good times, great shots – Thanks Caitlin!

Wow.  I’ve been waiting to share this for a couple of weeks now and I’m super excited that today is the day!!

I was honored to be selected by Pet Partners Insurance, the AKC Pet Care Plan to write on a feature story for the holiday edition of their online newsletter!  The article came out today as part of the Q4 Barking Bulletin, which is a fantastic resource for pet owners everywhere.  I am seriously giddy with excitement, seeing my work highlighted like this.  Hopefully, my photo tips will lead to many, many magical holiday moments!

I want to send a special thank you to Linda for all of her hard work on the project and to Bryn and Christian, you guys are the best!  Give big hugs to Maverick and Stella for me.

three’s company

As I was looking through some recent images from my session with Dakota, Mollie and Redmon…I decided to share just a few more favorites from the bunch (and there were LOTS of goodies).

Like they say…good things always come in 3′s.

Personal Work – Fall

November 5, 2009

Let’s call this series…”light and leaves”, a Fall medley!

I took a few minutes at the end of the day yesterday to roam around our backyard with the doggies.  It was nice to sit back and take in all of the glorious color!  It’s amazing to me how the change of seasons invigorates my imagination.

Mack’s progress report

November 3, 2009

Thank you to everyone who has sent my little Mack well wishes over the last week…I’m happy to report that he’s doing much better!  Although we don’t have an answer to the mystery yet, we have learned a lot.

Here is what we do know:

  • Mack is a big-time trooper.
  • He trusts us unconditionally and loves to be held like a baby.
  • He also has a newly discovered affinity for green Gatorade (just like his Mama).
  • His sickness lasted for two weeks, to-the-day
  • In total, he’s lost nearly  7 lbs, almost 20% of his body-weight.
  • Mack has a rare and violent allergic response to a very popular anti-vomiting medication called Cerenia.  Any new medication isn’t to be taken lightly.
  • Quick action and Benedryl probably saved his life.
  • We are very thankful that he’s showing signs of improvement with each passing day.
  • The original cause of his sickness and that of at least 5 other neighborhood dogs, is still undetermined.

Despite all he’s been through in the last two weeks, Mack is still silly and mischievous!  He’s even going to make a much anticipated re-appearance at doggie school later this week…can’t wait!!

I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to my neighbors, friends and our Vet, Dr. Feola.  Thank you for really listening, for your concern and for taking a sincere interest in finding answers.

“It’s easy to think horses when you hear hoof-beats.  Remembering that sometimes, it just might be zebras…can truly make a difference.”

I promise to keep everyone posted on any new developments as this doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident.  In the meantime, we are planning to be extra cautious with our pups.
